ROCK 'N' ROLL WITH
MONKEY MUSIC!
Monkey
Music was founded fifteen years ago by classically-trained musician Angie
Davies, now Monkey Music's MD, and aims to teach music to very young children
in a way they can easily understand and enjoy, with the children grouped in
small classes according to their age.
In
response to huge demand from parents, who are increasingly aware of the
importance of introducing their children to music from as young an age as
possible the Monkey Music classes are now available for babies as young as
3months. Each class is themed around
the everyday life of a very young child and engages the children through gentle
songs, fascinating sounds and absorbing activities.
A mother of 5 children herself, Angie is acutely aware of the importance of
introducing babies to music as early as possible. "All children are born with an innate musicality and only if this
is encouraged early enough will a child fulfil their natural musical potential"
Angie explains. "Moreover, research shows that early exposure to singing,
listening to and playing music can sharpen up a whole range of educational
skills.
"When I first opened Monkey Music classes,
the average age at which mums first brought their children along was 10 months"
Angie continues. "Over the years the
trend has gradually changed, with a growing demand from parents to start their
children in classes much earlier. Being
musical myself, I have always exposed my children to music right from the
start, so for me writing a curriculum for very young babies was a natural
progression of my inherent belief in the fundamental value of music."
Local
franchisee Kari Vaughan who runs Monkey Music in Worcestershire and Herefordshire, commented "I am delighted at the way Monkey Music has taken
off in Worcestershire and feel sure that our new classes in Herefordshire will
prove equally as popular. The growing demand for Monkey Music is proof of our
success and I look forward to opening our doors to many more little monkeys
soon."
